Day 3

Gauksmyri – Mývatn

This morning we will return to Hvitserkur to take advantage of the light during sunrise. After breakfast we will travel for the remainder of the day until we reach Goðafoss waterfall for sunset. Goðafoss is a very beautiful waterfall and at this time of year there may be plenty of ice surrounding it. After shooting it for sunset, we will continue to our hotel in Myvatn where we will be based for the next few days.

Hotel Gigr (Meals included: breakfast + lunch + dinner)

Day 4

Námaskar & Krafla geothermal regions

This area of the north east of Iceland has some of the most active geothermal springs and lava fields. For sunrise we will photograph the geothermal pools of Námaskarð and at sunset we will spend our time roaming around the stunning alien landscape of Krafla.

Hotel Gigr (Meals included: breakfast + lunch + dinner)

Day 5

Dettifoss & Selfoss waterfalls

Today we will visit Dettifoss and Selfoss waterfalls for sunrise and also sunset. Dettifoss is Europe's most powerful waterfall. Both waterfalls are extremely photogenic and at this time of year are often surrounded by snow and ice. We will shoot the waterfalls from the west and eastern sides of the river - something that is only possible in our high clearance vehicle.

Day 6

Myvatn - Grundarfjordur

This morning we will pack up and leave Myvatn for the Snæfellsnes peninsula. But we will stop at Goðafoss waterfall again - this time to shoot it at sunrise. Afterwards, we will continue to drive for the rest of the day to Snæfellsnes where we will arrive at Grundarfjordur for our nights stay. Sunset shooting will be around Kirkjufell mountain.

Hotel Framnes in Grundarfjordur (Meals included: breakfast + lunch + dinner)

Day 7

Grundarfjordur - Hellissandur

Today we will return to Kirkjufell mountain to shoot it at sunrise this time. After breakfast we will move to Hellissandur. It‘s only a short drive from Grundarfjordur, so we will have some extra time during the middle of the day. How we use the time will depend on the weather and light. If the light is great we can photograph some frozen waterfalls or Snæfellsjökull glacier. Sunset will be at Djúpalón beach, which has some very beautiful black pebbles.

Hotel Hellissandur(Meals included: breakfast + lunch + dinner)

Day 8

Hellissandur

In the morning we will return to Djúpalón beach and shoot it at sunrise. During the day time we will go exploring. We could get some wave action on the lava beach, or drive up to or even on to the Snæfellsjökull glacier in our super-truck or if the weather is bad set up a photo session in Vatnshellir lava cave (extra cost for the entrance, ISK 4000 per person). Our sunset time will be spent around Hellnar and Arnastapi which contains many interesting sea arches and stacks.
