Torness  Bruce Percy, Portfolio 13

Manufactured Coast

Something like a nuclear power station shouldn't be something that I'd normally consider an interesting subject for a photo essay.

But there is an interesting mixture of nature and industrial man made environments to Torness's landscape.

The nuclear reactor is situated on a reclaimed peninsula, protected from the natural forces of the sea by a man made coastline of concrete Lego like structures. To my mind, it is a very alien like landscape and one that I was compelled to photograph.
