Needle Rock and Sound of Raasay
Isle of Skye, Scotland
Venturing up to the Storr landscape with crampons in snow several feet deep early one morning allowed me to enjoy this landscape in a way I’ve always dreamed of photographing it. It is a busy landscape and if snow comes here, it’s a good way to reduce down, simplify the foreground. You can see the mainland over the Sound of Raasay in a state of permafrost. Winter was very special in 2009.
