Bolivian Altiplano Portfolio
I just thought I’d drop a wee note to say that I have now published my Bolivian Altiplano images on my site.
If you’d like to view them you can find them here.
Colchani Salt works, Salar de Uyuni
I’m off to sit down for a well earned rest I think, watch some TV.
I haven’t seen much TV in the past three months due to all the traveling I’ve been doing…. which reminds me… that I have around 100 rolls of film from India and Nepal still to edit and publish.
….. I’ll put TV on hold for the moment. Now where did I put those India and Nepal images?……

some fabulous images here. What an amazing place.
Just one thing, is that vignetting in some of the shots? There seems to be quite a few dark corners, or is it my eyesight?

It’s not Vignetting. It’s your eyesight :-)
It’s light fall off. Either part of the lens design, or part of my design.

Some great work there and what an amazing place.
It’s a shame you haven’t got the facility to add more details about the individual photos, it would be great to hear more about the stories behind them.
Love that Mamiya 7 format!

Beautiful work as always :) Can’t wait to see the India and Nepal shots
I agree with peaklandscapes, a bit more story or the thinking process behind the shot would be nice. Technical details are always welcome too.

maybe for a future podcast?

Hi Peaklandscapes,
I prefer to keep the gallery space just that. I think there is something more intriguing about an image when there are no titles or descriptions. You’re left to wonder and make your own mind up about it and also conjure up your own feelings / responses.
I do tend to discuss my images on this very Blog and also on my Podcast. You’ll have to look here in future for info on the Bolivian images.

Looks like something out of Dr Who (speaking of TV). Really striking shot. It’s difficult to get a sense of scale, there’s just nothing familiar about anything in the scene.

I’ve seen a lot of photos from the salar de uyuni but I think your photo essay is the best that I can recall.
Viewing your final images must make the frozen hands and the brain cells you lost due to the lack of oxygen at the extreme altitude worth it :)

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the very kind review of the images – and many thanks for all your help and advice too. :-)
